You should not even attempt to battle this boss until atleast disc 3. Having Antibody equipped before battle will severely
benefit you. Then, have Zidane use Thievery on Tantarian to make it appear, so now its not as dangerous. Now, don't use physical
attacks or Tantarian will hide again, so use your strongest magic attacks and steal some decent items from it.
Once Quina has captured 99 Frogs from the Qu Marsh, you must fight his master; Quale. Quale has more HP than anybody
on Final Fantasy IX, but he's quite easy to beat. If you fight him after disc 2 is complete, and your characters have over
2500HP each, this fight isn't very tough at all. Quale mainly uses status attacks so cure when you need to and hit away with
your toughest offensive abilities.
It is almost mandatory to have Auto-Regen, Auto-Life and Auto-Potion in this battle and ensure you equip a character
with the Pumice Piece, which is a rare item. Then, use your characters strongest weapons to deal some heavy damage to Ozma.
Have the Loudmouth ability learned by your magic users, or Ozma will cast Silence on them. Don't hesitate to have as many
abilities that protect against negative statuses as you want, because Ozma often uses status effects, and because this is
Final Fantasy IX's hardest fight, it would be ideal to have your party members about to enter Trance before going into this
fight.
Hades can be tough, but he can also be quite a breeze. Make use of a decent healer in this battle, and take advantage
of Hades' slow reactions by hacking away with your best attacks and magic.
Ragtime Mouse is actually one of Gaia's friendly monsters. You don't have to hit it at all, you just simply have to answer
all of its questions correctly to pick up the prizes.
